Hello everyone, I’m Tran Bac from Vietnam. My journey with oud began in 2013, and the deeper I immersed myself in this world, the more captivated I became. What started as curiosity soon turned into passion, and eventually, a lifelong commitment.
I founded An Agarwood with the desire to offer carefully selected agarwood (oud) products and to share the artisanal oud oils that I personally distill. Unlike mass production, I choose the path of traditional distillation, a method that resonates deeply with me.
Having spent years living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, the COVID pandemic was a turning point. I decided to leave the urban hustle behind and relocate to a tranquil countryside, approximately 100 km from Nha Trang City. Here, surrounded by pristine forests, majestic mountains, and crystal-clear streams, I found the perfect environment to dedicate myself to oud distillation. Water plays a crucial role in crafting high-quality oud oil, and this place provides an exceptional natural source.

The agarwood industry in Vietnam is often chaotic, driven by short-term profits rather than sustainable practices. This has led to a decline in our nation’s oud heritage, with most of Vietnam’s rare and precious agarwood—especially Kynam—being exported to countries like China, Japan, and Taiwan. This reality has always weighed heavily on my mind.
Through An Agarwood, I aim to create a trusted space where true oud enthusiasts can find authentic, high-quality products—honoring the essence of Vietnamese agarwood while preserving its legacy for future generations.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
