About An Agarwood

An Agarwood is a Vietnamese oud house dedicated to authentic agarwood, small-batch oud oils, and the natural character of Vietnamese oud.

Founded by Tran Bac after more than a decade of exploring and working with agarwood, An Agarwood was created with a simple purpose: to offer carefully selected Vietnamese oud and to share oils distilled with patience, transparency, and respect for the raw material.

Rooted in Vietnam

Vietnam has a long and remarkable relationship with agarwood. From cultivated Aquilaria crassna to resin-rich Ant-wood and increasingly rare wild material, each origin carries its own aromatic identity.

At An Agarwood, provenance matters.

We carefully select agarwood according to its natural character and intended use, whether for oud chips, incense, or distillation.

Distilled Close to the Forest

Our oud oils are distilled in small batches at our distillery near Phuoc Binh National Park, approximately 100 km from Nha Trang.

Surrounded by mountains, forests, and natural streams, this environment provides an exceptional source of fresh spring water, an important element in our distillation process.

We use copper stills and hydrodistillation, carefully controlling each batch over extended periods to preserve and reveal the individual character of the raw material.

Our Philosophy

We believe exceptional oud begins with exceptional raw material.

Our role is to select it carefully, understand it, and interfere as little as necessary with what nature has already created.

We value authenticity over exaggeration, small-batch production over mass production, and transparency about origin and process.

An Agarwood is our way of sharing Vietnamese oud as we know it, from the wood itself to the oil it becomes.
