Subitism is a handcrafted electric incense burner created in Vietnam for those who want to experience oud and natural aromatics with greater control, clarity, and appreciation.

Unlike mass-produced electric burners, each Subitism is individually crafted from carefully selected Vietnamese woods, chosen for their durability, distinctive grain, natural color, and character. No two pieces are exactly alike. The grain and variations of the wood make every burner a unique piece of craftsmanship.

A Better Way to Experience Natural Aromatics

Subitism replaces the unpredictability of charcoal with clean, instant, and adjustable electric heat.

Fine control over temperature allows aromatic materials to release their scent gradually, helping reveal delicate nuances while reducing unnecessary burning and material waste.

Although originally designed with agarwood in mind, Subitism can be used with a wide variety of natural aromatic materials, including oud/agarwood, kynam, sandalwood, frankincense, myrrh, bakhoor, resins, aromatic woods, herbs, and other botanicals.

From gentle warming to higher-temperature heating, you can adjust the heat according to the material and the experience you prefer.

Handcrafted, Not Mass Produced

Every wooden body is shaped, sanded, polished, and finished in small batches rather than produced on an industrial assembly line.

Particular attention is given to the selection of the wood itself. Beautiful grain, density, durability, and natural character are all considered before a blank becomes a finished Subitism burner.

The result is not simply a functional heating device, but an object that carries the individuality of the wood from which it was made.

Made to Be Seen

The simple cylindrical form feels comfortable in the hand and remains compact enough for travel. Its understated design allows the natural grain and color of the wood to become the visual focus.

When not in use, Subitism does not need to be hidden away like an ordinary appliance. Its handcrafted wooden body makes it a decorative object in its own right — equally at home on a desk, shelf, meditation space, or incense table.

Subitism is available in three versions, sharing the same functional design while offering distinctly different expressions of natural wood:

Padauk
Crafted from Pterocarpus indicus (also known as Narra), with warm reddish tones and naturally expressive grain.

Rosewood Standard
Selected rosewood featuring the natural contrast between darker heartwood and lighter sapwood, giving every piece its own individual pattern.

Rosewood Limited
Crafted from carefully selected aged rosewood with solid heartwood. Darker, denser, and more difficult to source, this version is produced only in small quantitie
